The fugitive emissions represent the whole of the emissions due to leakages (or micro leakages) on the essential equipment to the production. A guideline DRIRE obliges precisely the industrialists to set up a follow-up of these emissions: Vapocraquor, petrochemical industry and organic chemistry continuous processes.

The industrialists have as imperative to establish fugitive emissions balances for October 2005, with then a follow-up of 20% of the points per year.

The interventions are mainly carried out in zone Ex 1 or 2, it is thus necessary to carry out equipment compatible (PID, FID, UV).

Methodology to be followed is:

• Location of the points to be measured on plan and on the field
• Emissions measurements and complementary analyzes if it is necessary
• Enrichment of a data base
• Emissions calculation of the site
• Assistance to the maintenance
